We are Hiring: Site Surveyor

We are a structural steelwork fabrication company working with large and small projects that vary from schools, police stations, airports, residential housing, commercial properties and more. We are seeking to employ an experienced Surveyor to join the rapidly growing team.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within the construction industry, building and civil engineering works and an understanding of site paperwork and photos.

Achieving our vision of being a No1 Steel Supplier can’t be achieved without us all pulling together and working as one team. You may therefore be asked at times to carry out other reasonable duties and attend meetings and training courses.

Main requirements and duties:

  • Ability to interpret setting out Drawings / Strings
  • Setting out lines and levels using co-ordinates
  • Set out sites according to drawings and information.
  • Provide all calculations in respect of quantities, temporary works and statutory authorities.
  • Plot information from and to survey equipment.
  • Undertake survey works – pre-commencement and upon completion.
  • Document control of on-site drawings and drawing register.
  • To keep measuring equipment in a suitable condition for accurate measurement.
  • To identify design errors before implementation on site and liaise with designers to make amendments
  • Estimate materials, time and labour costs for the project

The successful Surveyor will have:

Problem solving ability

Experience in the use of CAD software.

CSCS Card

A basic understanding of Civil Engineering works

An awareness of Health and Safety policies

The ability to adapt to client’s requirements

Must be self-motivated

Good communication skills

Must be adaptable; late finishes and night working may be necessary at times.
